It’s hard to believe, but it’s time for the 3rd Annual “Lit for Literacy” Jamboree. Last year, we had approximately 450 people attend. This year, we’re looking for an even bigger crowd.

The event will take place Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the R.O.B., which is located at 245 South Church Street in Lake City. The purpose of the jamboree is to increase the value of literacy within the community by promoting the benefits of literacy in a culturally appealing manner.

The morning will start off with a walking book character parade. Participants could win an array of prizes. During the carnival-like celebration of literacy, popcorn, cotton candy, and snow cones will be available. There will be plenty of literacy-based games and activities for attendees to participate in—from infant on up! Most importantly, every child that attends the jamboree will get to select a free book to take home. I would like to take the opportunity to personally invite you to this celebration of literacy. Feel free to bring the entire family, church family, and/or friends!
