Travel the world through READING

The GLCCRC aims to bring literacy to your fingertips! Whether it's in a doctor’s office or at a community event, the GLCCRC wants you be immersed in the enjoyment of reading! To develop literacy within the children of the greater Lake City area, we collaborate with local partners in the community and city to offer accessible, high interest and culturally sound reading material in identified neighborhoods as well as child-friendly reading spaces throughout the Greater Lake City community.

The Greater Lake City Community Resource Center gratefully accepts donations of food and clothing for those in need in our area. Donated items are always given, never sold. See what items we are seeking for donation.

Food Distribution

Helping feed those in need

Providing food to our community members is our main priority. Every Tuesday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, the Greater Lake City Community distributes food to low-income citizens who are residents of Lake City, Coward, Scranton, Cades or Olanta. To find out if you qualify, call or email us today! At the GLCCRC our main goal is to fill the hunger needs in Florence County through our supplimental food program. On Tuesdays from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm we service lower-income residence of Lake City, Coward, Olanta, Scranton, and Cades. To qualify you must live in those listed areas and receive a aid from government funded program such as; SNAP, WIC, Medicare, Medicaid, or be a Veteran. If you do not meet those qualifications ask us about of voucher system. For more information reach us at 843-374-0400.

The Resource Center Community Garden

Plant the seeds of tomorrow

The GLLCRC aims to promote self-sufficiency, communal sustainability, and to provide access to free produce. The Resource Center Community Garden is under our Food Education Program and serves as an educational tool and a source of food security for our clients. We collaborate with local partners to provide educational classes geared towards learning how to grow and harvest in small garden spaces.
